Christian Siriano introduced his Spring ‘10 Runway collection at Payless Shoe Source in New York during Fashion’s Night Out.  Now, I don’t know if these shoes will be in my neighborhood Payless, or if they will make them less “runway” looking, or if these are a llimited edition for only New York.  Last year we saw Payless take his hot runway shoes and make them consumer friendly (average).

Payless Shoe Source is trying to make unusual shoes available to the lower end market.  They also have Alice+Olivia limited edition designs available.  We’ll see how well this line does in the stores.

Occasionally leather shoes fit like a glove in the shop, but after they are bought and worn for any period they start to punish the feet. In numerous cases the shoes are too tight for comfort, and they finish up causing distressing blisters. The material can be stiff, tight, and the shoes can make an agonizing problem, but luckily leather is moldable, and it can be stretched to fit completely. Rather than casting aside a new pair of leather shoes that feel too tight, consider the following method to stretch the material.
My pop works alongside leather, and he uses the following strategy to stretch the leather boots he makes by hand. Once the material is custom stretched to fit the feet, possibilities are they're going to become the most snug pair of boots you own.
Precautionary Statement: When unsure, apply the following treatments in an inconspicuous area before trying on plain areas of leather boots. Also, before using any system to stretch leather shoes, apply a fine quality leather moisturizer to the exterior. This may help forestall the material from splitting and cracking in the stretching process. Follow product label instructions for most impressive results.
Ice Technique to Stretch Leather Shoes: One tried and tested way to stretch leather shoes is the ice methodology. Fill a robust bag 3/4 of the way full with water, and seal the top soundly to avoid leaks. Place the bag of water into the shoe you need to stretch, and ensure the bag takes up excess space in the area where the shoe is too tight. Place the shoe in the refrigerator, and permit the water to freeze absolutely and stretch the material before removal. As the water freezes it will naturally expand and stretch the leather. Though this strategy doesn't result in a custom fit, it'll stretch the material if the bag expands the inside of the shoe in the right locations.
